Some frequently asked questions

Most of the two billion children on Earth have not heard of Jesus. They don’t know of the Saviour who offers them the hope of eternal life. Daily, children suffer the reality of sin, wherever they are. Why not focus on reaching them with the Gospel and discipling them as followers of Jesus?

Some languages (e.g., English) are well-served with an abundance of Biblical kids’ resources. This is not true for most of the world. Instead of just creating more resources, Logosdor seeks to understand local needs and then mentors and equips local leaders to use their gifts, to write, translate and create for their own time and place. The most-popular resources use no words at all, and can cross cultural boundaries more easily.

Of course, plenty of churches and ministries appreciate access to good no-cost resources free of copyright and branding. Everyone is welcome to use what we produce and to produce their own versions whenever they want to.

Ours is a shared goal with partners who follow Jesus in many places: to see children everywhere walking with Jesus.

Our ministry model is fairly unusual in western society. For most of Logosdor’s history, we have invested significant time and resources in helping churches, leaders and agencies to work together, for the sake of the gospel among children and youth.

With a small staff and volunteer team, Logosdor:

• Gives away for free the best creativity, experience and resources we have, to serve the Body of Christ,
• Removes copyright, branding and cost from everything we produce – smashing down barriers that make it harder for people to share the message,
• Raises up and fosters creative skills and encourages the contributions of leaders and kids, in every part of the world, and,
• Does it all anonymously.

With the scale of worldwide needs so great, we have found 'disruptive’ ways of serving God. Many people share our vision for children everywhere walking with Jesus. They are using everything they have. By making resources, tools, knowledge and ideas free, we are helping them to have access to so much more.

We understand our own context, but we can’t pretend to understand that of another community in another part of the world. Language and world view being just two things that significantly change engagement with children in a community.

Our attitude has been to release our work to allow others to take it and ‘shape it’, altering it for their own context. Local leaders are far better placed to know what is required in their community.

And it’s also efficient. Instead of building offices around the world, staffed by people on our payroll to check everything is being used how we intended, we made a decision early on to remain small and allow the Holy Spirit to guide how tools and resources from our office are used.

Through prayer, volunteering, internships, introductions to potential partners and financial support. Through seeing children through God’s eyes and sharing our vision, to see children everywhere walking with Christ.
