Alongsiding is more than coaching, mentoring or pastoral care, though these things may all be part of the alongsiding process. It is a partnership of trust and shared blessing in Christ.
Logosdor has been challenged and excited by the collaboration that can arise out of alongsiding people in other, distinctly different contexts, or closer to home.

In late January, we began to alongside five people, all of whom are involved in children’s ministry here in Australia — two uni students from Canberra, a youth worker from the Central Coast and a mum and her teenage daughter from Moree.
Members of our team spent three days in February with our new ‘alongsidees’ getting to know them, learning about their various ministries, the challenges of their particular contexts, and their hopes and dreams for this year.
We shared a bit about Logosdor and our desire to find creative ways of sharing the Gospel, and how we do it in an ‘upside down’ way compared to others. We call this work Alongsiding as it refers to us walking alongside another person in their life and faith journey for a season.
Each of the five ‘alongsidees’ are matched up with Logosdor team members. They meet fortnightly on Zoom as a group and also ‘one on one’. Additionally, we plan to meet face-to-face a couple more times through the year. The aim is not only to support these young people as they share the Gospel in their context, but to also encourage them to think creatively and in fresh ways.
Learning from each other and sharing ideas is a powerful way to do this. It’s exciting to see where the Holy Spirit takes this so that children everywhere can walk with Jesus.
